Dum-di-dum

I am stuck reading Jane Austen’s Emma. Like others I am having trouble getting into the setting of this one. In “Pride and Prejudice” relatively many things take place in a few pages or at least fewer pages than in Emma. It feels very protracted because of extremely long conversations etc. so I am never overcome by the same tranquil bliss that I recently experienced re-reading P&P in English.
It may have been caused by the lack of a good book on my desk but I did recently pick up my old habit of gaming – more specifically playing World of Warcraft. It has not taken over everything yet, although I do spend quite a lot of time playing the game whereas before I picked it up again I would read. When I am smitten by a great book it will probably subside again but I am starting to see a pattern. Need more amusing books!

It really is too bad that I have not already finished “Emma” but some time, somehow I WILL finish it, perhaps I should pick up Stiefvater’s “Forever” where I last left it in the meanwhile?

Who knows. I might do just that.

And here we are (again?)

I guess you cannot say “Here we are yet again” since this year is not 2010 or any of the other years that has passed. Still it feels peculiar and I really want to say: “Here we are again on the brink of another new year and plenty of new chances and really do we not have the world at our feet? Chances come and go and of course this new year will bring forth a lot of new or maybe returning chances. *Shrug*

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Ooooooooooops… and weekly book recommendation.

I (accidentally) just spent 60£ on ten books from Amazon.co.uk
It ought to hurt my gold-pocket quite a deal, since Christmas is not too far away any more. Well… I will be darned. These books better be here sooner than later so they can mend my guilty conscience.

Besides my sinning (baaaaaad bookaholic, bad bookaholic. Just call me B.B.)
I finished reading Karen Marie Moning’s “Dark Fever” this morning before I had to sprint out the door to arrive at school on time.
It has a refreshing take on the Urban Fantasy scene the heroine does not fuck everybody male or female. She actually does not have intercourse at all in this book! *Shocked* Although, there are some slightly erotic passages but that is caused by a totally different element to the series. (a special fairy-breed)

It is worth a read people! – I rated it 4/5 stars on Goodreads.com

Last Week’s Books

I recommend:

The Iron Knight – by Julie Kagawa. (I rated this book: 4 out of 5 stars)

I warn you against:

Entangled – by Cat Clarke (I rated this book: 1 out of 5 stars)

I would not recommend this book to anyone in particular. I you like clichés and vague reasoning then you might like “Entangled” I really hated the book the basis of the book was sooo weak and the main character was extremely not-intuitive bordering on lamely, unbelievably naïve.

DO NOT LET A PRETTY COVER DECEIVE YOU (Unless it is authored by Julie Kagawa, J.K. Rowling or one of the other goood gals!)

I need more series…

I consumed first season of Mad Men in less than a few days. I really want more.

I finished the third season of True blood last weekend, now I am out of series to watch.

The following are the series I will acquire (hopefully) as soon as possible.

Vampire Diaries season two:

One Tree Hill season eight:

Gossip Girl season four:

Along with Dexter season 1-5, Two and a half men season 1-8, How I met your mother season 1-6 and Mad Men season 2-4. (There are probably more series that I have not mentioned)
